Energy Shield applications include residential and commercial walls and roofs where one application typically results in 30 to 40% reduction in heating and cooling costs. Warehouse roof applications report interior temperture reductions measured at 15 to 20 decress Centigrade. When applied to interior walls Energy Shield reflects ambient heat sources to raise overall room temperatures. Energy Shield can be custom formulated for industrial applications such as coatings for the inside of liquid nitrogen and other supercooled liquid tanks to prevent product boil off. Energy Shield is currently in use on the exterior of petrochemical storage tanks to prevent high tank temperatures that result in venting and loss of product. Energy Shield’s Glass Microspheres are advanced, low-density additives used in painting and coating applications. They are available in a wide range of densities and crush strengths. These microscopic spheres of glass insulation are water insoluble, chemically stable, and mix with virtually all paints. Because of their spherical shape, glass microspheres behave like tiny ball bearings, causing them to flow within the liquid paint much better than common mineral fillers. In addition, the spherical shape often improves the dimensional stability of the polymer composite. Unlike irregularly-shaped fillers, glass microspheres roll easily over one another. This helps provide a much smoother and less texturized finish when painting. Glass Microspheres offer enhancements for specialties such as high-build/low-slump coatings, reflective roof coatings, lower thermally conductive finishes, and low density roof coatings. Energy Shield can be mixed with any paint or coating product including clear products and coatings for maritime and aviation applications and is easily applied via spray, roller or brush.
